Hurricane Agatha forecast to produce heavy rainfall over Southern Mexico 

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: As of this morning, Agatha had strengthened into a hurricane and the National Hurricane Center notes that additional strengthening is forecast before Agatha reaches the coast of Southern Mexico on Monday. 

Hurricane Agatha was located a couple of hundred miles southwest of Puerto Angel, Mexico. 

Agatha is moving toward the north-northwest near 3 miles per hour. 

The center of Agatha will approach the southern coast of Mexico later today and make landfall there on Monday.  Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 75 miles per hour with higher gusts.  
 
Agatha is expected to produce heavy rains over portions of southern Mexico by later today into Tuesday night.
