Contraband beer bust made in Ladyville

By Aaron Humes: According to Channel 7 News, four men were busted in broad daylight apparently moving contraband beer near Ladyville.

Police acted on information received and stopped a GMC Silverado pick-up truck around 11:15 Sunday morning, where they found almost 100 cases of contraband beer.

Police recovered 74 cases of Corona beer; 12 six-packs of Dos Equis beer; three cases of Modelo beer; two cases of Budweiser Light beer and other assorted liquor and soda.

The Silverado, manned by four men from Belize City, carried an expired temporary permit and valid insurance sticker that was for an entirely different vehicle.

In the pan, they found 74 cases of Corona beer, 12 – six packs of Dos Equis, 3 cases Modelo beer, two cases Bud Light Beer and other assorted liquors and soda.

The case is in the hands of the Customs Department, while the men will also faced traffic offense-related charges.
