By Rubén Morales Iglesias: “The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise and the National Agriculture and Trade Show Organizing Committee thanks all Belizeans for their attendance and participation at the National Agriculture and Trade Show 2022,” said the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise (MAFSE) on social media on Monday.
More than 27,000 persons attended the National Agriculture and Trade Show (NATS) over the weekend, including 26,753 paying persons and invited guests.
The NATS Committee said that on Sunday, 15,782 persons paid to enter the Agric Show on Sunday and 10,971 persons did so on Saturday. The NATS, the biggest agricultural and trade show in the country, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Normally, the districts also have their agriculture and trade shows, but these, along with the national show, had been cancelled over the last two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Thanks to everyone for coming out to support this year’s Agric 2022. See you next year!” said the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise (MAFSE) in another social media post on Sunday.
Another note of thanks by the Agriculture Ministry thanks the NATS sponsors.
“To our sponsors, thanks a million, as well as to all who made it to this year’s spectacular Agric 2022,” said MAFSE.
During the rainy weather and the rising COVID-19 numbers, people from all districts flocked to the NATS grounds in the capital Belmopan to see Belize’s agricultural and trade products, livestock shows, rodeos, tons of food, and entertainment.
The 2022 NATS Committee which organized the National Agriculture and Trade Show is led by Gary Ramirez, MAFSE’s Horticulture Unit Coordinator.
