Two Honduran women charged a thousand-dollar each for immigration offense

By BBN Staff: Two Honduran women were fined in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today for committing immigration offenses.

Kenzia Diane Leon Rodriguez, 22, and Tanya Mariella Martinez Parades, 24, appeared unrepresented in court and were charged with entering Belize from an unauthorized port of entry.

Both women were accused of entering Belize through the Arenal area, when authorities caught up with them on May 26, pleaded guilty to the charge.

They were both fined $1,000 for the offense plus the $5 cost of court, which they were able to pay.

The women are now at the Belize Central Prison, awaiting a court order to be deported.
