Another Belize City father committed to prison for owing over $13,000 in child maintenance

By Aaron Humes: The crackdown continues on so-called “deadbeat dads” at the Family Court.

Following the arrest and remand of Doran Dougal last week for $16,000 in child maintenance, on Monday one Elias Chuc appeared before the courts in similar circumstances.

Chuc is behind some $13,000 and was sent to jail on a committal warrant issued for his immediate arrest.

This means Chuc must go to jail immediately in default of the payment he has outstanding for child maintenance he has not been paying for a period of time.
