Benque Fiesta activities kick off on June 11 with presentation of Señorita Flor de la Feria candidates

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Benque Viejo del Carmen Annual July Fiesta activities start with the official presentation of the candidates for the queen of the fiesta, Señorita Flor de la Feria on Saturday, June 11.

The candidates will be presented at the Cancha Marshalleck starting at 9:00 pm. Super Furia Band from Orange Walk will be entertaining.

The last Señorita Flor de la Feria was Vanessa Salazar in 2019. No fiestas were held over the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tickets for the event are being pre-sold for $20.

The Benque Viejo del Carmen Annual Fiesta is organized by the Benque Viejo Town Council. The three-day fiesta coincides with the religious celebration in honor of the town’s patron saint, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, whose day is celebrated on July 16.
