By Aaron Humes: Leader of the Opposition United Democratic Party Moses “Shyne” Barrow shared with Breaking Belize News (BBN) today that students at Julian Cho Technical High School outside Punta Gorda Town were denied the opportunity to have him be the guest speaker at their upcoming school graduation.

According to our colleagues at PGTV and as confirmed by Barrow, a majority of students voted for Barrow to speak, only to be told by the school’s administration that they need to vote again.

Barrow forwarded a social media message from someone connected to the school that indicated that students once again voted for Barrow, only to be denied. PGTV said they were not able to reach the board chairman for comment. Likewise, we tried the listed number and the phone rang off the hook.

There is thus no indication of why Barrow, a noted entertainer, and celebrity even before becoming a political figure, would be denied the opportunity to speak at the school commencement.
