By Hugh O’Brien: On Monday, Mexican social media influencer, Alex Tienda, landed in Belize and his visit is expected to give Belize great exposure especially among his Mexican and “Latino’ fans. Alex joins a number of social media influencers, including Mexican powerhouse Luisito Comunica, and celebrities who have visited Belize in recent times.

Upon his arrival in Belize, Alex was met by a team from the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) who referred to him as a “travel vlogger, audiovisual content producer, and social media influencer”. The vlogs and audiovisual content produced by Alex Tienda has over 300+ million views on social media, and the BTB reports that “Alex is the official ambassador of two important tourism destinations in Mexico: Baja California & Puerto Vallarta”.

While in Belize, Alex Tienda “will be visiting several key destinations and sharing his travels on his social media platforms”, said the BTB in a social media post.

On YouTube Alex has 3.83 million subscribers and he has posted 348 videos. On Facebook, Alex is followed by 2.8 million people and on Instagram he has 2.5 million followers.

“Welcome to our small but gorgeous country Belize we call our jewel,” wrote Maria Garcia on the BTB’s social media post.
