Popular tourism site Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Cave gets new facilitation center

By Hugh O’Brien: Visitors to the popular tourism site Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Cave will be better facilitated with the opening of a new facility in Teakettle Village, Cayo District.

On Monday, the Teakettle ATM Facilitation Center, located at Mile 55 on the George Price Highway near the ATM Cave, was officially inaugurated. This is according to the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) which says that “the project is the result of efforts between the Belize Tourism Board and the Cayo South Office to improve the tourism infrastructure in proximity to the popular archaeological site”.

Present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony were Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations and Julius Espat, Area Representative for Cayo South and Minister of Infrastructure Development and Housing. CEO in the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing, Victor Espat and BTB board member, Carlos Santos, were also present and were joined by members of the community.
