Westrac Ltd doubled the Your World is Our World race registration fees and as promised made a donation of $20,680 to the Cayo Deaf Education and Farm Institute (CDI).
130 athletes registered for the race held on Saturday in Spanish Lookout for a total of $6,500 registration fees. Westrac had said the company would double the total but went beyond the double for the final donation to the Cayo Deaf Institute.
The Cayo Deaf Education and Farm Institute is located approximately 1.5 miles from Central Farm to Spanish Lookout Road.
The Institute is working towards building a multipurpose facility for the school’s events.
Marlon Aguilar won the 7K Individual race in 29 minutes, 4.5 seconds (29:04.5). Nia Beane was the winner in the Women’s Category completing the race in 39:54.4.
Francisco Lima and Leon O’Brien won the Half Marathon Relay in one hour, 17 minutes, and 26.6 seconds (1:17:26.6). Jennifer López and Daniel López won the Mixed Category in 1:36:22.4. Martha Novelo and Ana López-Camp won the Women’s Category in 1:44:08.1.
