Dominican Republic National Football Team arrived on Monday, train this evening at FFB Field

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Dominican Republic Men’s National Football Team (DRMNT) arrived in Belize on Monday to face the Belize Men’s National Team (BMNT) in the Concacaf Nations League on Thursday.

The Dominicans are staying at the Ramada Princess in Belize City.

The visitors have been training at the MCC Grounds and will do their official training at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan today Wednesday at 5:00 pm, said FFB Technical Director Philip Marin.

The Dominican Selection features several players who play in Europe. According to the Dominican Republic Football Federation, 11 of the first 12 players, who reported to their first training on Saturday before travelling to Belize, play outside the Dominican Republic, the majority in Europe. Four play in Spain, three in Italy, two in Bolivia, one in Germany, and one in Poland.

The Dominican Federation said the latest news was the addition of midfielder Rafael Núñez, who plays for UD Almería, a second division team in Spain.

Like Belize, the Dominican Republic team is also headed by a Spanish coach. Their coach is Iñaki Bea.

The Belize-Dominican Republic game kicks off at 4:00 pm at the FFB Stadium on Thursday.
