By Aaron Humes: Kevin Gordon, 20, of North Creek Road, Belize City, has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm for allegedly threatening a police officer.

On May 26, Officer Javon Logan, 21, and Brandon Smith, 24, were on a bicycle on Kut Avenue approaching Fairweather Street around 8:40 in the evening upon reaching a green elevated board bungalow house located on the right-hand side of the street, they were approached by a minor known to them from Western Paradise, who began to argue with the policeman.

The minor left and returned with two other persons including Gordon, who flashed what appeared to be a .38 revolver at Officer Logan. The officer called for backup and fellow police responded and detained Gordon.

In court, Gordon pleaded not guilty and was remanded without bail until July 20, when he returns to court.
