By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Mexican authorities have confirmed that 9 people lost their lives and 4 are missing following Hurricane Agatha.
On Monday, Agatha made landfall as a Category 2 Hurricane knocking off power and telephone lines near Puerto Angel on the Pacific Coast before dissipating as it moved inland.
Authorities urged residents to remain alert since there is the possibility of more landslides and river flooding in Mexico.
This morning, the National Hurricane Center said that the remnants of Agatha could contribute to the development of a tropical depression or tropical storm while it moves slowly northeastward over the northwestern Caribbean Sea and the southeastern Gulf of Mexico during the next day or two.
