By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Coordinator for the National Food and Nutrition Security Commission, Emilio Rene Montero is on a technical visit to El Salvador from June 1-3, 2022, to look at results of Mexico’s Sembrando Vida (Sowing Life) project, said the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE).
MAFSE said Montero’s visit is to have first-hand experience of the results beneficiaries in El Salvador have had in Mexico’s Sembrando Vida project. Belize is participating in the Mexican project initiated by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. The programme’s objective is to provide jobs for Central American and Mexican workers within their own countries so that they do not have to migrate.
Montero’s visit includes tours of plots, nurseries, and bio-factories in San Salvador and San Miguel.
MAFSE said the visit is facilitated by Mexico’s Agency for International Cooperation through Development (Amexcid) through its General Directorate for the Execution of Special International Cooperation Projects.
