Teen footballer charged in shooting incident on Curassow Street

By Aaron Humes: Police have confirmed the arrest of 18-year-old Shemar Gillett of Belize City in connection with the shooting incident on Curassow Street on Monday.

Gillett is charged with two counts each of use of deadly means of harm, wounding, and harm respectively.

He is accused of opening fire on Anthony Parham near Curassow Street and injuring Joanna Parham, who was in the vicinity.

Gillett’s picture released by police featured him in a Belize National Team uniform and he is known as an athlete.
