Ukraine’s President says that 20% of Ukraine is now under Russian control

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia now controls 20% of Ukraine’s territory with Donbas almost fully destroyed.

During an address to Luxembourg’s lawmakers, Zelensky said that the almost 125 thousand square kilometers now controlled by Russia is much larger than the area of all the Benelux countries combined.

In addition, Zelensky says that the fighting continues along with the southern territories of the country.

According to Zelensky, over 30,000 Russian soldiers have been killed since the start of the war.

He further urged the international community to impose additional sanctions on Russia and requested more weapons for Ukraine’s fight.

The President continues to address world leaders gathering support for his country.
