By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Twelve Belizeans graduated on Friday from the Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Field Epidemiology Training Program.

“This morning the Ministry of Health & Wellness partnered with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and SE-COMISCA SICA to hold a graduation ceremony for 12 participants of the second cohort of the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP),” said the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW).

“This continuous training is being done through the Epidemiology Unit of the ministry to assist and enhance health professionals to identify, collect, analyze and manage data information in disease outbreak situations.”

SE-COMISCA SICA is the Executive Secretariat of the Central American and Dominican Republic Council of Health Ministries of the Central American Integration System.

The MOHW said the participants presented case studies based on the knowledge and training received over the past three months.

The participants included representatives from the Belize Defence Force and Belize Agricultural Health Authority.
