By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: More than 200 mass shootings have been recorded in the United States of America this year, according to data from the Gun Violence Archive (GVU).

The shooting that occurred at a medical center on Wednesday in Tulsa, Oklahoma marked the 232^nd mass shooting for 2022.

There have been increasing reports of mass shootings in recent years with 2021 recording 692.

This year, over 250 people have lost their lives to these shootings with 1,010 persons injured.

Data from GVU revealed that there have been 27 school shootings in the U.S. this year leaving educators and parents fearing for the lives of their children daily.

U.S. President, Joe Biden has implored Congress to take action against gun violence as the country continues to reel from mass shootings.
