Khalydia Velasquez scores 7 goals in Jewel Fury’s 9-0 demolition of Verdes Rebels in NAWL A

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Rookie Khalydia Velasquez led Jewel Fury with an amazing set of seven goals in the 9-0 bombing of Verdes Rebels in NAWL A.

The match was played at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in capital Belmopan.

After scoring four goals in the 10’, 12’, 32’, 45’, Velasquez closed off with a hattrick in under three minutes in the 64’, 65, and 66’.

Ceneia Apolonio added the eighth goal in the 69’ and Janivi Quiroz hit the last one in the 79’.

Jewel Fury now have 16 points atop the standings, leading second-place Rumberas by five points.

The Verdes Rebels have only one point in seven outings and are headed to NAWL B.

Jewel Fury will face Rumberas on Saturday at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence while the Verdes Rebels will play hosts against the Sagitun GIRLZ on Sunday at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio.
