By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: There have been increased reports of motorcycle theft in the Twin Towns of San Ignacio & Santa Elena.
Today, the San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council issued a statement warning that motorcycle theft has become rampant in the municipality.
The council shared some safety tips with owners to avoid becoming victims of motorcycle theft.
“Ensure that you lock your ignition, and lock motorcycles to a secure, stationary object that can’t be easily dismantled, such as a pole. You can also add audible alarms to your cycles, ” the Council said in a social media post.
Some other precautionary measures include parking your cycles in well-lighted areas.
