Tropical Storm Alex spreads heavy rain and high winds across Bermuda

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Bermuda as it starts to move away from Bermuda.

NHC says that tropical storm conditions including heavy rains continue in Bermuda for the next several hours.

As of this morning, the center of Tropical Storm Alex was located about 100 miles north-northwest of Bermuda.

Maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph (100 km/h) with higher gusts.

 Some weakening is forecast, and Alex is expected to become an extratropical low later today.
