COVID-19 update: Weekend adds 275 new cases

By Aaron Humes: This past weekend saw the addition of 275 new cases of COVID-19 countrywide as the current wave of the virus continues.

There was a net increase of 60 cases as 215 recoveries from the disease were also reported.

Thus there are 1,328 active cases of COVID-19 with a further 225 samples under investigation.

Three persons remain hospitalized and no new deaths were reported.

The current wave continues to mostly affect the central districts. Belize City alone recorded 82 of 109 new cases in mainland Belize District and 13 in San Pedro Town. Belmopan recorded 41 new cases including one in San Martin and San Ignacio and Santa Elena together 25.

Elsewhere, there were 26 new cases between Corozal and Orange Walk and 40 new cases across the South.
