By BBN Staff: Shawn Lanza, 35, a Lord’s Bank resident was remanded to the Belize Central Prison on Monday after being denied bail on a charge of burglary, which has been trending up recently.
Lanza appeared unrepresented in Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday before Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson. He pleaded “not guilty” to a count of burglary.
Lanza is accused of stealing a number of building materials including electrical wires, buckets of paint, and other home supplies from a construction site where the government has contracted a home to be built under its current housing program.
He was remanded until his next court date on July 29.
