UDP issues correction on the statement on abuse of Police officers

By Aaron Humes: In discussing the issue of abuse of Police officers, the Opposition United Democratic Party confused driver of Minister Michel Chebat, Hamid Awe, with archeologist Dr Jaime Awe.

Hamid Awe interceded with police officers last year when one of his sons got in trouble, forcing the Minister to briefly distance himself.

Dr Awe had nothing to do with the incident and the party apologized, regretting the error. So far as we know the men are not relatives.
