Ministry of Health and Wellness: Third straight day of 200-plus cases of COVID-19

By Aaron Humes: 201 new cases of COVID-19 were reported countrywide today according to the Ministry of Health and Wellness, marking the third straight day this week of more than 200 cases countrywide.

Belize now has 1,655 active cases of COVID-19 and a total of 60,694.

238 samples are under investigation. Nine persons are now hospitalized, up from eight yesterday, but no new deaths were reported.

There were 100 new cases in the Belize District, including 69 in Belize City and 10 in San Pedro Town. In Cayo, 24 new cases were recorded in the Belmopan area and 20 in San Ignacio/Santa Elena.

Dangriga reported 12 new cases out of 24 in the Stann Creek District. The North and Toledo accounted for 13 total new cases between them.
