Fisherman’s boat stolen in Ambergris Caye

By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating a report of a stolen fishing vessel in the San Mateo area of Ambergris Caye.

Fisherman Enrique Gutierrez, 48, reported that the “Laurie”, a 23-foot Mexican fabricated fiberglass skiff with registration number BZ-0260, valued at eight thousand dollars, and a 40-horsepower Yamaha two-stroke outboard engine valued at four thousand dollars, was stolen from a dock on the lagoon.

The boat and engine had been secured with a lock and stainless steel chain valued at $100. Police have since informed that the boat has been recovered, but not the engine.
