By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Taiwan announced that the mandatory quarantine for arrivals was moved from 7 to 3 days, in a new relaxation of rules in an attempt to resume normal life following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Taiwan’s strict quarantine rules had remained in place as many parts of Asia implemented relaxed regulations.
Since the start of 2022, Taiwan has reported over 2.7 million COVID-19 cases with 99% exhibiting only mild or no symptoms at all.
Taiwan’s health officials note that after leaving quarantine, people need to continue monitoring their health for 4 days.
Travelers arriving in Taiwan are still required to present pre-departure negative PCR tests.
