By Hugh O’Brien: An area of low pressure is expected to develop towards the middle of the coming week in the southwestern Caribbean Sea. This is according to the 12:00 pm tropical weather outlook from the National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami, Florida.
The Center reports that slow development of the system is possible as it drifts towards the northwest off the coast of Nicaragua and Honduras. The chance of formation in the next 2 days is nil, but over the next 5 days the chance increases to 20%, still representing a low chance of formation.
Earlier today the National Meteorological Service reported that skies will be sunny with cloudy spells in the daytime and cloudy tonight. Showers or thunderstorms will begin in isolated areas, then increase over the south tonight and across the country thereafter.
As the clouds associated with the potential low pressure system drift towards the northwest, more showers are expected to occur during the course of the week in Belize.
