Andrew Ashcroft leaving Belize with the kids as Supreme Court case against ex Jasmine Hartin begins

Posted: Monday, June 13, 2022. 3:41 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: Today Jasmine Hartin was due in court on charges of manslaughter by negligence in connection with the shooting death of Senior Superintendent of Police Henry Jemmott.

In so far unexplained timing, her former partner Andrew Ashcroft issued a public statement that in part “wish[ed] her well” on this and other forthcoming cases: “I hold no ill will or malice towards Jasmine…”

As for the custody of their five-year-old twins, he confirms that he now has sole custody under the Families and Children Act by order of the Family Court Director, Magistrate Dale Cayetano. The case is said to be appealed to the Supreme Court and Ashcroft says that “I hope that in due course the Magistrate will provide his full reasoning for this important decision.”

Until then, Ashcroft will be moving full-time to the Turks and Caicos Islands, he reports, to develop a hotel similar to the Alaia Belize Hotel on Ambergris Caye. He further states that Jasmine will receive “fair value” for the 10 percent of issued share capital in the holding company of Belize Alaia Hotel which he had gifted her after an independent valuation. He promises to come back to Belize “from time to time,” presumably to let the children see their mother.
