Three men and a minor remanded to prison for prohibited firearm

By BBN Staff: Three men and a 17-year-old male minor are on remand tonight in connection with a prohibited firearm found inside the vehicle they were in during a police search.

The search happened on Newtown Barracks on Sunday, June 12, where Hansel Ciego Jr, 28; Herman Austin Ciego Jr., 21; and Barry Leonard Tillett, 20, along with the minor were in the vehicle when police found a .40 caliber pistol and 10 live .40 caliber rounds.

They all appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today where they were charged with Kept Prohibited Firearm and Prohibited Ammunition, to which they all plead not guilty.

The three adults were all remanded to the Belize Central Prison until August 10, while the minor was remanded to the Wagner’s Youth Facility, housed at the prison.
