By BBN Staff: Sandhill Village resident, 46-year-old, Ralph Wellington Middleton, is on remand at the Belize Central Prison after being unable to post his bail after being charged with threatening to kill a woman.
Middleton appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, charged with a single count of “threat to death.”
In court, Middleton pleaded not guilty and while there was no objection to bail being offered to him, Magistrate Shoman granted him bail in the sum of $1,000 plus one surety of the same.
At his arraignment when the Magistrate inquired from Middleton his relationship to the victim, he said they are not related and that she just live in Biscayne Village and would frequently visit Sandhill Village.
But before he could post bail, more trouble came Middleton’s way as court records showed Middleton never paid a $505 fine from a conviction for wounding back in 2014, and the Magistrate said that he had to pay the fine before he could post bail.
He was unable to do so and was remanded until August 12, 2022.
