Prime Minister John Briceño leaving on month-long series of conferences and visits

By Aaron Humes: Prime Minister John Briceño addressed the press this afternoon on his upcoming series of conferences and visits abroad.

Two of the conferences – the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Kigali, Rwanda, and the CARICOM Heads of Government meeting in Paramaribo, Suriname, where he hands over the rotating presidency of CARICOM – had already been planned.

But two further opportunities to address a summit on oceans in Portugal on the success of the Blue Bond and conservation efforts, and a summit with the European Union (EU) came up unexpectedly, and he felt he could not say no to either.

The Prime Minister has been to Cuba, Mexico, and briefly Guatemala and hosted a CARICOM Heads of Government meeting, a CARICOM-SICA summit, and a Royal visit in the last six months, but he says he has no fear that the home front is being in any way neglected.
