By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize’s Ambassador to Taiwan Dr. Candice Pitts said at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Belize Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI) and Imports and Exports Association of Taipei (IEAT) that the agreement is another instance of commercial advancement for both countries.
“In the new era of commercial opportunities and investment between Belize and Taiwan, we indeed look forward with optimism to all the ways in which we will augment and optimize the durable, reliable, and admirable friendship between our countries,” said Ambassador Pitts.
Ambassador Pitts added that the MOU is an example of the benefits of the bi-lateral relationship between Belize and Taiwan.
“The IEAT celebrates a history of working relations with Taiwan’s diplomatic allies, by facilitating business development missions, hosting international partners, product promotion, business matching, providing special column in trade magazine, among other services,” said the Belize Embassy in Taiwan.
The IEAT’s Trade Magazine, which has a large audience and following, according to the Belize Embassy, should publish in August an article on Belize after interviewing Dr Pitts. As is usual, during the interview, Ambassador Pitts promoted Belizean products, reviewed the trade relations between both countries, and spoke on the policies in place for trade and investment in Belize.
