The U.S. announces an additional $1 billion in aid for Ukraine

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: President of the United States, Joe Biden has announced an additional $1 billion in military support to Ukraine. The announcement comes after Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky made a request asking for additional ammunition to help fight off the Russian invasion.

Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine that began over 100 days ago, the U.S. has provided over $5.5 billion in military support.

Biden said that he informed the Ukrainian President of the additional aid in security assistance.

Zelensky says that he is grateful for the new military aid package.
