By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belizean Glenford Williams claimed the silver medal in the 100m at the U-18 Central American Athletics Championships. Williams won second place in the 100m race clocking 11.28 seconds.
Gold was captured by Nicaraguan Jaír Díaz in 11.19 seconds. Costa Rican Dominik Darbey took bronze in 11.50 seconds.
With Williams silver, Belize now has five medals at the Central American championships, two in the U-18 and three in the U-20.
Mia Sylvester won gold in the U-20 shot put and discus while Kirk Elrington got gold in the U18 triple jump.
Joas Mejia also won silver in the U-20 triple jump.
Eleven Belizean athletes are competing in the XXIX U-18 and XXIV U-20 Central American Athletics Championships in Managua. The games conclude on Sunday.
