Cayo couple charged for possession of drugs and ammunition

By Benjamin Flowers: Police have arrested a couple from San Ignacio Town, Cayo District, for being in possession of drugs, as well as unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

Jose Avilez, 35, and Honduran national Rina Caceres, 35, have been arrested and charged with keeping ammunition without a gun license and possession of controlled drugs.

Police conducted a search of their residence on Thursday, and found 505.8 grams of suspected cannabis, 2.7 grams of suspected cocaine, and seventeen rounds of .45 ammunition.
