Glenford Vernon dead after being shot in Buttonwood Bay

By BBN Staff: A Belize City man died while receiving medical treatment for gunshot wounds last night.

Police say that 44-year-old Glenford Vernon was at a home on Dolphin Drive in the Buttonwood Bay Area of Belize City around 7:00 p.m. when two men on a motorcycle rode past. The passenger of the motorcycle fired several gunshots at Vernon hitting him in the right rib cage.

Vernon was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:20 p.m. by doctors who were treating him.

Police are investigating.
