Gabrielle Gabourel wins second consecutive Women’s Junior National Time Trial Championship

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: C-Ray’s Cycling Team’s Gabrielle Gabourel won her second consecutive Women’s Junior National Individual Time Trial (ITT) Championship on Sunday.

Gabourel won the Junior Category in the National ITT organized by the Cycling Federation of Belize on the John Smith Road between Ladyville and Western Paradise on Sunday with a time of 30 minutes and 30 seconds. That was 54 seconds slower than her time last year but good enough to take the Junior title again.

Gabourel was third overall in the general classification behind Alicia Thompson who won the National Championship ITT in 26:47. Paulita Chavarria of the Chavarria Cycling Team was second in 29:03.

Top Flight’s Chelsey Gillett finished fourth in 34:42. Gillett was second in the Junior Category.
