Management of Ella’s Cool Spot announces closure; ‘heinous act’ of fire leaves 12 families affected

By Aaron Humes: Following an early morning fire that razed it to the ground, the management of Ella’s Cool Spot has announced its closure “until further notice.”

The popular Hopkins establishment was owned by Ella Carr.

On social media, the official Facebook page noted, “Not only was one restaurant destroyed, but over 12 families are now left without the resources to put food on their tables during this already difficult time with the ongoing pandemic.”

And it leaves no doubt that the fire, it believes, was deliberately set, asking the public to provide information to find those responsible.

It concludes, “Nevertheless we have faith that with God’s grace we will find the means and resources to help us rebuild,” adding thanks for the community support and promising to “see you all soon.”

Police investigations are underway.
