Trio held in robbery and stabbing of security supervisor

By Aaron Humes: Police were just in time to stop several accused robbers from getting away on Monday night after a security company supervisor was stabbed.

Police say Jamil Scott was leaving his workplace on Antelope Street Extension just before 11 p.m. when two men approached from Pitter Street and he was stabbed. His grey knapsack containing a handheld radio and other company documents was taken.

The thieves boarded a getaway vehicle in the area but as they were making their escape they ran into a police relief mobile. Two of them tried to run but one was caught along with the other two occupants and they were taken to Precinct Two Police Station at Mahogany Street along with the vehicle, a red and black Ford Explorer. Police also recovered the knapsack.

Scott is listed in stable condition in hospital and police investigations continue.
