By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is closely monitoring a tropical wave located over the eastern tropical Atlantic.
The tropical wave could strengthen into a tropical depression by early next week as it moves toward the Caribbean.
The tropical wave is producing a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms and continues to move 15 to 20 miles per hour over the tropical Atlantic as it approaches the Windward Islands.
It has a 60% chance of developing in the next five days, NHC noted.
So far, there has been only 1 named storm for the 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season – Tropical Storm Alex.
