Corozal’s Bay City take on Santa Elena Strikers in NAWL B semifinals in Cayo on Saturday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Corozal’s Bay City FC kick off the National Amateur Women’s League semifinals on Saturday against the Santa Elena Strikers in San Ignacio.

The first semifinal match is slated for 3:00 pm at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio.

Bay City are the clear favourites going into the playoffs undefeated in eight games and having beaten the Santa Elena Strikers twice already. Bay City are a scoring machine having found the target 75 times and not allowing a single goal all season.

For the Santa Elena Strikers, who could only win twice in their eight outings, the battle is uphill against Bay City but that doesn’t stop them. After all, there have been bigger upsets in the world of sport and the last thing that goes is hope.

The return match will be next Saturday in Corozal.
