Leader of the Opposition performs at BET Awards in honor of mentor Diddy

Moses “Shyne” Barrow returned to the entertainment stage this evening in a special performance in honour of mentor Sean “P. Diddy” Combs at the BET [Black Entertainment Television] Awards, where Combs received a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Barrow and Combs performed a medley of his 2000 song “Bad Boyz” with additional new lyrics from Barrow; he had rarely performed the song live due to his stint in a New York jail following the Club New York shooting and subsequent deportation to Belize.

Barrow performed in front of a giant Belize flag and Combs, who had previously endorsed him to be area representative of Mesopotamia during the 2020 general election campaign, shouted “next stop, Prime Minister” at the end of the performance.

Shyne joined fellow musical luminaries and Bad Boy Records stable members Mary J. Blige, Nas, Lil’ Kim, Busta Rhymes, The Lox, Bryson Tiller, Faith Evans, Jodeci and The Maverick City Choir.
