Ministry of Health & Wellness commemorates World Drug Day

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Health & Wellness (MOHW) through the National Drug Abuse Control Council-MOHW (NDACC) is commemorating International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking also known as World Drug Day.

The Actual day was on Sunday, June 26, but because of the weekend, it is being observed today.

The MOHW said the 2022-23 theme is ‘Addressing drug challenges in health and humanitarian crisis’.

“We continue to advocate to protect the right to health for the most vulnerable including people with substance misuse disorders and people who need access to treatment and rehabilitation,” said the MOHW.

“The NDACC is also committed to continuing to share information on substance misuse through our Prevention education services and through our Outreach Services; treatment and care resources are available.”

The Ministry of Health and Wellness reached out to people who may need help.
