Potential tropical depression could bring heavy rains to the Caribbean

Posted: Monday, June 27, 2022. 1:21 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Tropical wave Invest 94L is forecasted to develop into a tropical depression or storm by midweek, becoming Tropical Storm Bonnie.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is closely monitoring this system.

As of today, the system was located about 950 miles south-southeast of the Caribbean’s Windward Islands.

Forecasters say Invest 94L could become stronger as it approaches the Caribbean.

Heavy rainfall is forecast over the Windward Islands and the northeastern coast of Venezuela tomorrow and Wednesday.

There is a 90% chance of formation within the next 5 days.
