By BBN Staff: Three Belize City men who are accused of gang affiliation have been remanded to the Belize Central Prison after police caught them with a submachine gun on Saturday night.

Charles Middleton, 26, Jaheem Isaiah Flowers, 19, and Maury Jafet Leslie, 20, were arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday, where they were represented by attorney Ronell Gonzalez.

The men were charged jointly with one count of possession of a firearm for benefit of a gang, one count kept prohibited firearm in respect of a submachine gun found in their possession, and one count of kept ammunition without a gun license, for 14- live rounds of .9mm ammunition found with the submachine gun.

No plea was taken from them and they were remanded to jail until September 2, 2022. The court also informed them that they can apply for bail at the Supreme Court through the assistance of their attorney.

Officers of police precinct #1, Investigation and Interdiction Unit, and Gang Intelligence Unit, apprehended the three men on Saturday night outside Club Bizzle (formerly Bismark Night Club) on Saturday night (see full story here).
