By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Following on the plan at the United Nations Oceans Conference in Lisbon Portugal, Director of Blue Economy Maxine Monsanto is participating in a panel to review Marine Spatial Planning, said the Ministry of Blue Economy and Aviation (MBECA).
“Marine Spatial Planning is an integral exercise in setting a solid foundation for a successful Blue Economy. This results in effective, evidence-based policy decisions and strategic planning,” said MBECA.
Earlier on Tuesday, Director Monsanto accompanied Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Blue Economy Kennedy Carrillo at a breakfast meeting with Ministers and other representatives of champion countries of the Commonwealth Blue Charters Action Groups.
“This high-level [meeting] provided an opportunity to share accomplishments, challenges and identify specific areas of support for the work of ocean conservation and blue economy in Belize,” said MBECA.
The Ministry of Blue Economy said on Monday that Prime Minister John Briceño is heading a Belizean delegation to the United Nations (UN) Oceans Conference in Lisbon.
The Ministry of Blue Economy said Belize will be represented at important bilateral meetings and interactive discussions throughout the entire week.
