By BBN Staff: An 18-year-old Belize City resident has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison for shooting a gun in public.
Jaheem Morris Jr. appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court yesterday, charged with a single count of discharging a firearm in public.
The allegation against him is that on May 20, he was on Mayflower Street, Belize City, and fired a weapon without reasonable cause.
Magistrate Baja Shoman explained to him in court that, due to the nature of the offense he could not be granted bail at the Magistrate level.
He was then sent to prison until August 31, which is his next court date.
