By BBN Staff: A Belize City man is in debt to the court after being convicted of traffic offenses.
Dennis Robert Matura, 28, was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court and charged with one count of driving an unlicensed motor vehicle and one count of driving without a valid driver’s license.
In court he pleaded guilty, explaining that he was only moving the vehicle a block to take it to the mechanic. He contended that he did have a license but didn’t remember that it was expired.
For his guilty plea, he was fined $100 +$5.00 for driving without a valid driver’s license for which he has until August 3, 2022, to pay in default one-month imprisonment.
Matura was also fined $50 + a $5.00 cost if court for driving an unlicensed motor vehicle of which he has until July 31, 2022, to pay in default 2 weeks imprisonment.
