Man charged for attempted murder in connection with Hattieville shooting incident

By BBN Staff: Thirty-four-year-old Akeem Morgan was remanded to the Belize Central Prison this week in connection with a shooting incident in Hattieville Village earlier this month.

Morgan appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday, answering to a single charge of attempted murder upon 31-year-old Dorian Garnett.

No plea was taken from him, due to the nature of the offense and he was remanded to jail until August 31.

The incident occurred on June 15 in the Windmill area of the village. Garnet was walking home around 8:40 p.m. when he was ambushed and shot to the upper left arm.
